Engine failure to start caused by lack of programming in excavator ECU

2010-03-21

A customer'sKobelco SK200-6EThe machine was submerged in water. In order to repair the submerged machine, after removing the water, various parts of the machine were inspected and replaced with the electromechanical computer board and ECU. However, the engine still could not be started.

① Although I wanted to conduct fault analysis through Hino DX, I was unable to communicate with the ECU.
The control program may not have been entered into the ECU.
Without entering the program, it was released from the parts center.
② Before sending the formal ECU that entered the control program, an investigation was conducted by connecting the old ECU to Hino DX to confirm the origin of [P0686] (main relay system fault). Confirm that there are no abnormalities in the ECU power wiring and engine start signal wiring according to the fault analysis procedure. (During the repair, the ECU relay had melted and broken, so it was replaced.)
→ Determine whether it is a connector of the ECU or an internal part of the ECUElectrical equipmentThe bad.
③ After replacing the delivered regular ECU, the engine starts.

Handling method:

Replace the ECU. The problem this time lies in the ECU (not programmed) that has been released from the parts center as [empty]. Revise the process from receiving ECU orders to outbound to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
