The hydraulic components of excavators require high cleanliness of hydraulic oil, especially the plunger pump and plunger motor. Therefore, the main maintenance of the hydraulic system is to regularly replace the filter element of the hydraulic system to maintain the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil.

Special attention should be paid to excavators equipped with crushers, and the hydraulic return oil filter should be replaced and the hydraulic oil checked every 250 hours.Attention should be paid to the quality of excavator oil replacementNote that the hydraulic oil tank vent filter should be replaced, which many people may overlook. Due to friction and leakage losses, hydraulic systems experience significant energy losses. This is closely related to the viscosity of hydraulic oil, which is sensitive to temperature changes, so it is necessary to strictly prevent high temperatures in the system. The high temperature of the system reduces the working efficiency of machinery, accelerates the aging of seals, and reduces the service life of hydraulic components. Check the cooling system every 500 hours, clean the radiator fins and radiator mesh. Check the tension of the fan belt. In the middle position between the generator pulley and the water pump pulley, press down on the belt with your fingers (with a force of approximately 58.8N). The normal deformation of the belt is about 5-6mm. Most excavators use plunger pumps, which have the disadvantage of poor self-priming and do not discharge. Therefore, after repairing the hydraulic pump or changing the hydraulic oil, it is necessary to exhaust the hydraulic pump, unscrew the exhaust plug until the oil overflows, and then tighten the vent plug. Check the oil level in the rotary gear reducer every 100 hours. If it does not reach the marked line on the dipstick, it should be replenished. If the oil volume increases significantly and the viscosity decreases, it is mostly hydraulic oil entering the gearbox, and the rotary motor skeleton oil seal should be replaced.

The maintenance and upkeep of second-hand excavators are very important, especially for the delicate hydraulic system, which requires strict maintenance to minimize chain breakage at critical moments.
