The sales of excavators in the first quarter of 2012 are not optimistic

According to authoritative statistics, as of the beginning of 2012, the sales volume of excavators in the industry was about 5377 units in January, a year-on-year decrease of 53.5% in a single month. The decline has further expanded by 18 percentage points compared to December, and the decline has continued to expand for the fifth consecutive month. Shanghai Huacheng believes that although the high base of the same period last year and non recurring factors such as the Spring Festival in January this year have to some extent exaggerated the decline, they also fully reflect fundamental factors such as the slowdown in real estate investment growth, the lack of significant recovery in infrastructure investment, and the still tight credit environment (new credit of 738.1 billion yuan in January, a year-on-year decrease of 28%). Looking ahead, the institution maintains its judgment of the excavator market being "low in the beginning and high in the end" for the whole year. It is expected that the industry will still be in a downturn in the first quarter, but the year-on-year decline is expected to narrow after hitting bottom in January; Starting from the second quarter, the succession of local governments has been gradually completed, and various infrastructure projects are expected to be launched or resumed on a large scale, driving the excavator industry towards gradual recovery. In addition, due to the impact of weather, the construction progress of most projects has slowed down, resulting in weak downstream demand and difficulty in improving excavator sales data for March 2012.
