    1、 Supply exceeds demand

The staff went to the construction site. Currently, there are few large-scale construction projects, so the demand for equipment driven by them is also relatively low, such as highways, infrastructure, real estate projects, etc. The reporter came to a large real estate project located across the country. It is understood that this project is considered to have strong financial strength. Due to the impact of funds, the construction has also been affected to some extent, let alone relatively small projects, many of which have already been suspended. Many migrant workers cannot find jobs in small projects and directly move to relatively larger projects. A large number of second-hand construction machinery and equipment are idle, or labor prices have been reduced, resulting in a decrease in demand compared to before.

    2、 Poor quality control of equipment

Pursuing low prices blindly violates the basic principles of legal procedures. The quality control is not strict, and most inspectors only understand one of the procedures and processes for importing second-hand equipment, not the other. They are accustomed to applying the import process of second-hand equipment with an export mindset, completely ignoring the import documents, and only pursuing the lowest import price. Whoever has the lowest price will be contacted, without caring about whether the operation is legal.

Before 2010, the proportion of second-hand excavator sales was relatively high. When the total sales volume was 5000 units, second-hand excavators accounted for about 4000 units, and the sales volume of new excavators was only about 1000 units. Among the users interviewed by the staff, the number of second-hand phones owned by each user far exceeds the sales of new phones. For example, Mr. Lin from Fuqing currently owns 20 construction machinery, of which 12 out of 16 excavators are second-hand. Mr. Yu and Mr. Lin both have dozens of excavators, most of which are second-hand excavators. These users who are accustomed to using large second-hand excavators all have a characteristic, that is, when the country imposed stricter import controls on second-hand excavators after 2010, they could not buy second-hand excavators. At that time, they began to consider purchasing domestic excavators. After paying for the benefits of new equipment such as service and quality assurance, they continued to purchase new equipment.

The national excavator market used to be dominated by second-hand excavators, but now the sales of new excavators have exceeded those of second-hand excavators. Mr. Lin currently owns a total of 16 excavators, including 12 second-hand excavators imported from Japan. Since purchasing his first new machine (Sany) in the first half of 2011, he has now owned 4 Sany excavators.

From the current comprehensive economic situation, in order to make a breakthrough in the sales of second-hand excavators, we can only hope for the relaxation of national real estate regulations or strict control over the quality of imported second-hand excavators.
