The decrease in downstream demand has led to a decline in sales of second-hand excavators this month.

The overall market is sluggish, and imported second-hand excavators stand out alone

From January to April 2012, Shanghai Huacheng's second-hand excavator market sold a total of 490 excavators, a year-on-year decrease of 34.4%. Domestic excavators sold a total of 92 excavators, a year-on-year decrease of 44.00%. However, from January to April, imported second-hand excavators sold 398 units, which did not show a significant year-on-year decrease and performed quite well.

Although sales significantly decreased in April and year-on-year sales also declined, sales from January to April surpassed the second ranked CAT by nearly 100 units, showing a clear advantage and a staggering market share of 15.48%. Komatsu's sales from January to April exceeded 200 units.

From the sales situation in various regions, from January to April 2012, Shandong sold 117 excavators, still ranking first in regional sales; Sichuan, Henan, Hubei, and Jiangsu have the second highest sales volume.

From January to April 2012, several major second-hand excavator dealers in China sold a total of 2491 small excavators of 13T and below, a year-on-year decrease of 35.69%, accounting for 41.98% of the total sales of second-hand excavators. Compared with the first quarter, the proportion slightly decreased. There are a total of 1182 medium-sized excavators with 13T-30T capacity, a year-on-year decrease of 50.78%, accounting for 42.35% of the total excavator sales. A total of 914 excavators with a capacity of over 30T were produced, a year-on-year decrease of 27.94%, accounting for 15.67% of the total excavator sales. With the development of urban and rural infrastructure construction, the advantages of small excavators have become prominent, with their small body, flexibility and ease of control. With the acceleration of environmental protection and ecological construction, the construction volume of gardens, greening, farmland and other areas is gradually increasing, and there will definitely be more and more broad development space.
